the first lesson was french cooking... after seeing how much effort was put into the preparation , i now know why it cost so much to eat at french resturant.
the first dish.
Homemade Truffle "Brioche" with Poached Foie Gras and Braised "Granny Smith"
I mean apart from foie gras being an extremely cruel food.. since i am there, i dun wan to waste it loh.. so i tried.. omg..the taste was extremely strong and heavy.. after 2 mouth, I basically got to force myself to finish it... else the poor duck die for nothing... yuck
BTW, this is a demo dish, we dun get to do anything
oh... later chef gave us some slices of the expensive black truffle... not bad, its got a nutty taste!
the 2nd dish - Roasted Turbot with Steamed Baby Bak Choy and Smoked potatos "vine Tomato Confit" , aged Balsamic
Note: Turbot is a type of fish.. very big .... -.-
and we only get to panfry the fish fillet... nothing else was cooked by us.... -.-
Chef gave us free caviar.... another heavy tasting "delicacy"... erm, not my taste..
the dessert - vanilla "Panna Cotta" , raspberry fruit coulis, hazelnut ice cream
psst, this one i am holding is made by the chefs la.. cos the one i made is like shit.. lol
we get to boil the milk , add the sugar and gelatine... for the vanilla panna cotta part...
zzzzzzzzz
this one lesson cost $120. would you go if you have to pay for it yourself?

let me add, i am sure you saw before lah. heehee
I will only pay so much for the course if I want very much to cook a good French meal.
incredible how Europeans want to cook asian style and Asians learn to cook European style. We should all swap places.
And yes, that was very expensive
