Proj Beautify Balcony

Decided that today is the day I will launch the "decorate the puny balcony" project.
I was given a specific budget to beautify the space and I set out after an early lunch to Thomson Road to visit the nurseries there.

First look at Far East Flora... but no one there seem very interested to see if I need help. And I wasn't too sure what to get, so I wandered off to Hawaii Landscape next door. Mind you, by then the beads of sweat were forming on me body.
Same as Far East, no one seem too bothered with people juz wandering and wandering.. looking lost.. lol.. then a kind soul asked me "miss, you need any help?".. Little does he knows that by doing tat, it will mean that the deal is half sealed cos I hate to be ignored.. haha... I asked about bamboos (those nice lite greens one) but they need quite alot of sun, so I got to let it go. sobsob.. then i shortlisted a type called Japanese bamboo , 2 tomatococo (real name 'Thaumatococcus daniellii') and one calathea. The guy was nice enough to bring pots of plants next to each other so I can visualise if they are "compatible"... those pots not say very light loh...
heeh.. so, I decided to get them and also asked for them to be repotted into nicer pots and bought extra soil and wat have you...

Calathea

cant find appropriate pic of the Jap Bamboo...

hehe.. so i tot... hmm, i still have abt 3/5 of my budget left,so I wandered behind where there are 2 nursery specialising in water features... Turns out the first one was under-going reno, so I only had one choice left. I was there checking it out and shortly was attended to by a nice girl. Very patient and did not laugh at my low budget... hehe..most small one cost $150-300 more , depending on the base, pot and wat have you... after spending like almost one hour.. I finally decided on a 400X400 base, come with some edging bricks, a fish to sprout out water and pump. She will drop in some pebbles... and cost my small budget so tight cannot afford to add in delivery and installation... she decided to do me a favor by fixing it (not reflected on invoice) when we collect. so that save me some money.. lets hope it wont be too heavy to lug from the car to our flat next Sunday. By the time I left Thomson Road, I was stinky due to pespiration...

So in summary, Project completed. Delivery to be tomorrow afternoon for the plants and self collection for water feature next Sunday..

WOOHOO... Next Project to be determined... sample pics of plants here!
