Scientists to study bird flu in cats - Today, p22
To better understand the role of cats in the spread of the bird flu virus, researchers led by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization will begin the world's largest examination of bird flu in cats in Indonesia next month. Disease trackers aim to examine feline habits and collect blood samples for the next three months to understand the epidemiology of the virus and how it crosses between different species.

hmm... 2 ways to read this bit of news... better for man-kind.. sad for the cats.. soon, there will be more abandoment of cats all over the world...

Maybe they will get lucky and find a cure for the cats. And the humans too.

Just hope they do not purposely infect the cats.
