meaningful passages

dear friends

i am going through a period where i need some self reflection after losing my temper at my loved one yesterday (for the nth time). i realised i have committed a horrible act, where i take my loved one for granted and hurt their feelings, over and over again...

i hope i can find the right direction in which i can nurture myself to be a wholesome person again.. i would like to share some meaningful Buddhist passages with you. Let's hope, for those of my friends and other readers (and also myself) who have similar experience find the strength to alter their ways and re-built themselves. If you do not believe in this religion, u can just skip this post :)

The excepts are taken off some of the ebooks that i downloaded

the ebooks can be downloaded HERE

Words from The Buddha

"From craving springs grief
From craving springs fear
For him who is wholly fear from craving
There is no grief, much less fear"
kelly - i crave attention therefore, i suffer...

"No enemy can harm one as much as one's own thoughts of craving,
thoughts of hate, thoughts of jealousy and so on"
kelly - my own thoughts harm myself more than anyone else's words

"Let none find fault with others; let none see the omissions and commissions of others, but Let one see one's own acts, done and undone"
kelly - i see my own act too late, after, its done..

"He who is always observant of other's faults, and irritable, increases his own defilements. He is far from the destructions of defilements."
kelly - i am too busy finding fault with people, i am too blind to see my own

"The faults of others are easily seen, but one's own is difficult to see. One winnows other's faults like chaff, but hides one's own as a crafty fowler covers himself."
kelly - i try to cover up ...

"People blame others for their silence. They blame those who talk too much and those who talk in moderation. There is, therefore, no one in this world who is not blamed." He further said "There never was, there never will be, nor is there now, anyone who is wholly blamed or wholly praised."
kelly - i have to stop blaming people for the thoughts that run thru my mind..and for the things that they said which become an excuse not reason for losing my temper..

afternote at 10.55pm, i am feeling better about myself, so i am posting something cute to spice up your night!!

Time to chill out from everyone and 'find' yourself. Be it buddhism (it's a way of life, not a religion to me anyways), hope you do find peace. :)
